James Neil Fletcher, born at home on a farm near Blair, NE to Delbert C. Fletcher and Muriel I. Nielsen Fletcher on October 21, 1939. Passed from this world to the next on February 1, 2017 in Reno, NV.


During his early youth, the family lived in NE, MO, and CA. Settling in Hayward, CA in 1950.


Jim was a country boy at heart. A member and President of Future Farmers of America at Hayward High School. After high school, he started college at San Luis Obispo where he was on the football team. After one year of college, he dropped out and followed his father and older brother into the Millwright trade. He stayed in the trade all of his working life. Jim learned his trade well and was in charge of many large construction jobs all over the USA.


He married Melanie O’Neil July 25, 1962. They had two children, Shane and Ricquel. His second marriage was to Beverly Miller McCutcheon on January 15, 1972. They had one child, Tad. Bev had four children, Bob, Janice, Donna and Dan. Jim adopted Dan and helped raise them all.


Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Delbert Thomas Fletcher.


He is survived by his wife Beverly, above mentioned children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Ione Kleven Fletcher and two brothers, William L. Fletcher and Vincent W. Fletcher, and many nieces and nephews.


His Celebration of Life will be held on March 11th, 2017 at Pipers Opera House located at 12 N. B Street in Virginia City, Nevada, at 2:00 PM. It is open to anyone who wants to join the family to celebrate his life. Food will be provided to all.
