Run away: A pair of colts belonging to Sheriff Smith got loose from their moorings at the Warm Springs yesterday afternoon and made a straight and rapid wake for home. When they got as far as Carson Street they made a carom on A. Jacobs’ aiming and capsized it. They were caught before they had done much damage. Morg Miller, Esq., who drove them down to the springs, had the pleasure of a trip home by foot.

A man got hot at the Appeal yesterday, and his rage was so uncontrollable that he paid a bill. Such incidents happening on pay day are considered lucky in a newspaper office.

The law officer who pursued and captured 26-year-old murderer Dennis Nogue expressed sadness this morning at the young man’s apparent suicide at the Nevada State Prison. He said he would attend a funeral if one were held in Carson City.
