Sept. 24, 1940 ~ July 9, 2017
The world lost a wonderful man Sunday evening the 9th of July. Thomas Lahey was born September 24, 1940 in Kingston, New York.
He worked many years in the aerospace industry, and was a participant in the design and construction of the L.E.M., Lunar Lander, which allowed Armstrong and Aldrin to land and return from the moon.
Tom leaves behind three children, Thomas, Owen and Carolyn; eight grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Gary and Robert. He was blessed to add 2 step-daughters, Monique and Dana when he married the love of his life, Vivienne. They were married for 26 adventure filled years. They left Oakland, CA. 15 years ago to retire to Carson City, NV.
There’s a saying “You can’t keep a good man down.” Well Tom was that good man. He volunteered many hours to the C.C. Republican Central Committee and was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
He will be remembered as an honest, loving, God fearing patriot who will be deeply missed by his friends and family. The world will seem a bit smaller without his presence.
A Mass will be held July 18th at 11:00am at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 3000 N. Lompa Ln., Carson City, NV 89706
