March 11, 1947 ~ June 11, 2017
Carolyn Renae Simnad was born on March 11, 1947, and passed away on June 11, 2017, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Carol was born in Grafton, North Dakota, to Daniel Riskey and Irene Riske. While still very young, her family moved to Brea, California, where she was raised.
She married Gary Lambrigger, originally living in Lomita, California, and then moving to Fountain Valley, California, where they raised their three children. During this time, she completed her college education at Cal State Long Beach and her teaching credential at Cal State Dominguez Hills. She then began pursuing her passion of teaching, first in the inner city for Los Angeles Unified School District.
She was later remarried to Jeffrey Simnad and relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she taught in a Catholic parochial school, and later worked for the University of North Carolina.
She then moved to Carson City, Nevada, to be closer to her mother, and worked for several years at the Carson Medical Group. She was also an active member of the St Teresa of Avila Catholic parish, and touched many lives through both organizations through her love of God, love of people and positive personality.
She is survived by her mother, Irene Riskey; her brothers, Dwight and Dan Riskey; her husband, Jeffrey Simnad; her children, Dwain (Jennifer) Lambrigger, Darrin (Juanita) Lambrigger, Renae (Sean) Wilde; and seven grandchildren.
