The Last Response Memorial Fund is still looking for help for the Deputy Howell Memorial Music Festival in August.
The organization is still in need of volunteers, sponsors and ticket sales to be able to help kick off the event successfully.
“It is really a community event,” said Last Response Board member Tonya Brown.
The music festival will take place on Aug. 19, featuring a number of musical acts with appearances from sports and reality stars. The organizers want the event to be family friendly and will also have a kids zone with a bounce house, dunk tank and face painting booth. In addition to the festival, there will also be a VIP dinner Aug. 18 for guests to mingle with some of the celebrities before the main event.
The volunteers helping to put on the event met Tuesday to discuss what needs to be done for the event still. The biggest necessities are ticket sales and volunteers for the day of the event.
“There are a lot of good-hearted people who need to be involved with this,” said Carson City Deputy Bob Guimont.
Several community partners have been involved in this event so far, by volunteering or sponsoring including Battle Born Harley Davidson, Trader Joe’s and the Carson Victory Rollers.
The festival has only sold about 600 presale tickets and still has about 100 tickets left for the VIP dinner. Festival tickets are $20 and children 12 and under are free, while VIP tickets are $100.
