Carson City Chamber luncheon features look at personality types

The March Chamber Soup’s On! will offer a insight into the four personality styles to better understand ourselves and those around us. This understanding is especially valuable in the workplace.

The fast-paced luncheon will be led by Linda Ritter who has presented the True Colors seminar to many top groups including the Chamber’s annual Leadership Institute kick-off each October. Insight is also given on how others may see us, for as we see ourselves is not always the way others may see us.

The color theory can be traced back to Hippocrates (460BC) and though each of us may have many hues, we all are a predominant personality type. By the end of the luncheon, all will go home knowing where they fit.

True Colors — the theory behind the orange, green, yellow, blue personality types — was created by Don Lowry in 1978 and has been used by many human resources departments to make sure a new employee is the proper fit. He writes, “Successful people know who they are and what their True Colors are… when you know what your core values and needs are and feel good about them, you can perform at your highest potential in every area of life. And when you share a working, mutual understanding of other’ core values and needs, you have the basis to communicate, motivate, and achieve common goals with utmost dignity, efficacy, and mutual respect.”

The event is sponsored by the Campagni Auto Group who will be distributing blue lights bulbs to attendees to unveil the Blue Light Project to call attention to the May 15 Annual Law Enforcement Officers Memorial to take place at the Legislative Plaza.

The Chamber luncheon is open to the public and will be held at the Gold Dust West on March 29 beginning at 11:15 a.m. Cost is $16 per person with advance reservation prior to March 27; $20 at the door. To RSVP, call 882-1565.
