Marshall, Oliver
nab honors
RENO — The honors keep rolling in for Nevada’s Marcus Marshall and Cameron Oliver.
Marshall, one of two seniors on this year’s squad that posted a 28-7 record and reached the NCAA Tournament, earned first-team all-District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Marshall, who transferred to Nevada from Missouri State, averaged 19.7 per game, including 3.3 made 3-pointers. Marshall was the third player in Mountain West history to eclipse 100 3-pointers in a season. He finished with 115 3-pointers this year, putting him No. 2 in the conference record books. He broke Nevada’s single-season record against UNLV earlier this year. Marshall was also a District 8 selection by the United States Basketball Writers Association.
Oliver earned second-team all-District honors. The 6-8 sophomore forward averaged 2.6 blocks per game, 8.7 rebounds and 16 points per contest. He was also a District 8 selection by the USBWA.
