Dorothy Louise Wittmuss (Dottie), 72 of Stagecoach, Nevada died March 21, 2017 in Reno from complications of an aneurysm.


She was born to the late Joseph and Alasia Hill, October 19, 1944 in Orlando, Florida. Dorothy graduated from Boone High School in Orlando in 1962.


She marred Terry Kane in 1964 and lived with him until 1992. During this time they moved to Reno and had two sons.


In 1999, she married Gary Wittmuss. They resided in Carson city until 2005 when they moved to Stagecoach. Many remember Dottie from Wells Fargo Bank, where she retired in 2000.


Dottie’s varied interests included shipboard cruising, touring the country via car or motorcycle, RV camping and belonging to an Oakland Raiders Booster Club. As a long time member of the Reno Mustang Car Club, she enjoyed taking her red 1969 Mustang to car shows. She liked to read, watch western movies and play cards. Dottie loved animals and contributed time to an adoption group that locates homes for retired racing greyhounds.


Dorothy is survived by her husband, Gary of Stagecoach and her two sons, Steven (Debbie) of Fowler, California and Alan (Susan) of Reno. “Grandma Dottie” is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grand children. Her sister Marie (Gregory) and a large extended family reside in Orlando Florida and surrounding area.


Dotties wishes were to be cremated with no service.
