A midnight serenade: The boys in Carson belong to one or the other of two parties, one wearing a “red badge” and the other a “blue badge” — we believe the distinction is merely fanciful. Well, the other night the “red badge” boys aided by Mr. York of Virginia City, serenaded the Appeal office, and the music was excellent.

Lottery craze: The mania for lottery tickets is increasing. Agents report new buyers all the while. “You would be astonished if I told you the ladies here who purchase tickets; some as high as ten a month.” When asked who the ladies were, the response was, “Mums the word ...”

Easter services, St. Peter’s Church: The Easter sermon at St. Peter’s Church will be provided by Rev. Chas. H. Powell, Ph.D., Rector. The Sermon, “The Ever Living Christ.” A ladies quartette composed of Miss Stewart and Mesdames Crowell, Mills and Yerington accompanied by Mr. J. P. Meder, organist, will render special Easter music.

Easter egg hunt: Hundreds of local youngsters are expected to hunt for Easter eggs on the lawn of the State Capitol building. Sponsors of the annual affair are the 20-30 Club.

Easter egg hunt: City youngsters canvassed the Capitol and court house lawns hunting for Easter eggs. The annual hunt, sponsored by the 20-30 Club, was the biggest ever. Finders of 300 prize eggs were given Easter baskets.

Mystery car: A mystery car with an Assembly license plate has piled up 54 parking tickets at McCarran International Airport. It’s causing headaches for two Assembly members with calls stating they are responsible for the tickets. They have similar license plates, but different vehicles.
