Talk of the Town: Local rock shop a trove of treasures

“Rocking and Rolling”

What does it mean?

Where rocks are the king

And crystals are queen.

A little gift shop

In the heart of our town.

It’s a social center ...

Where rock hounds are found.

The owner is a lady

As bubbly as her name

An effervescent geologist,

Jeanette Champagne.

Her shop is all Nevada,

Teaching geology,

The love of Mother Nature

With all its diversity.

Every stone, it has a purpose —

Grounding you and me.

From the toothpaste that we use

To the crystals in our TV,

All that we possess

Is either grown or mined

In some fine way.

She has rocks, beads, crystals and minerals

Found in our Nevada clay.

She started a rock hound club

Here in Carson City.

Everyone is welcome

Even the itty-bitty.

If you need to be entertained,

She has a singing deer.

Lights come on,

You can sing along,

Mr. Buck is here.

So it was a great find!

The crystals were aligned.

Find your geocache treasure right here!
