David Elwyn Johnson passed away on Saturday May 6th after a long battle with cancer.
He loved music, especially jazz, and was fortunate to make music his career as a skilled piano tuner and kindhearted piano teacher. David touched the lives of many as he brought excellence to his profession. He shared his musical talent by playing trombone for many years with the Carson City Symphony.
David was a member of the Great Basin Gem and Mineral Club and enjoyed hiking through the desert and mountains looking for rocks. He was extremely patriotic, liked football, and was devoted to his religion as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But most of all, he cherished his family.
David is survived by his wife, Gail; mother, Jane Campbell; father, Elwyn Johnson; brother, Curtis Fowler (Kim); sister, Marilyn Ingels (Robert); children, Ray Phelps (Carole); Tracy Larson (Evan); Tammy Thornton (Eric); Emily
Drews (Cody); and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 13th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1331 McKay Drive, Carson City, NV. Viewing at 9:00 AM and Service at 10:00 AM.
