Manogue stops Carson

RENO – Despite two homers by Jailene Salceido and one by Kailee Luschar, Carson dropped an 11-3 non-league decision to Bishop Manogue on Tuesday.

The teams opted to play the non-league game because both teams lost two games when Hug decided only to field a JV squad this year.

“It was nice to play seven innings against them,” Carson coach Shane Quilling said. “They 10-runned us both times this year. We played pretty clean in the field today. Bella (Kordonowy) made some nice plays.

“Kailee had been struggling at the plate, and she went 3-for-3. It was nice to see her get going.”

Carson couldn’t overcome five homers by the Miners.

Camryn Quilling hit safely twice for the Senators.

Carson plays Reed on Thursday in the opening round of the regional playoffs.
