Speed ordinance: According to city ordinance in Carson the speed limit for autos on the public streets is 8 miles an hour. Carson auto drivers observe this ordinance strictly, but when men come from Reno, they think nothing of driving their machines through Carson at 20 miles a gait. They frighten horses, pay no attention to people and are a general nuisance. Outside autos should come under the law like the rest.

Elevator or escalator: The state planning board decided that an elevator should be installed in the Capitol building to lift state workers from the first to second floor. The escalator would cost too much. $30,000 appropriated for the elevator.

Wagon train: The Highway 50 Association, a nonprofit organization, is trying to raise money to fund its annual Wagon Train that travels from Dayton to El Dorado Hills, Calif. The group lost its prior revenue from the El Dorado County Fair parking lot concession.
