RENO — University of Nevada head men’s basketball coach Eric Musselman has announced JoJo Anderson will join the Wolf Pack as a walk-on this season.

The Houston native transfers to Nevada from Northern Arizona and will sit out this season under NCAA transfer rules and will have two seasons to play for the Pack starting in 2019-20.

“We are extremely excited that JoJo is joining our program as a walk-on this upcoming year,” Musselman said. “He will be an immediate impact in practice and will look to improve over the course of this year by competing with our players on a daily basis. When looking at his statistics at his prior school, he is a high free-throw attempt player, which is something that we preach to our players every day.”

The 6-3, 170-pound guard played the past two seasons at NAU where he started 16 games and appeared in 60 for the Lumberjacks. This past year he was second on the team, scoring 11.1 points per game and averaged 1.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. From the field he shot 34.6 percent and was good on 32.5 percent from behind the arc. At the free throw line he made 81.3 percent of his attempts.

Against Montana he scored a career-best 31 points, making 5-of-14 shots from the field that included 4-of-7 from behind the arc. At the free throw line he was good on 17-of-19 attempts against the Grizzlies.

His freshman year he averaged 7.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in 23.1 minutes per contest.
