While the cleanup from Monday's storm continues this morning, the National Weather Service is telling residents in Northern Nevada to prepare for the upcoming storm.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Thursday afternoon through Saturday morning.
For the Carson City, Minden area 2 to 6 inches of snow is predicted with up to a foot above 5,000 foot elevation level.
Travel conditions will be impacted.
"Now is the time to prepare an emergency kit for your home and car. If traveling consider alternate plans, remember to carry tire chains, extra food, water and clothing. Once the storm arrives, travel may be difficult or impossible for an extended period of time," NWS said.

The snow is actually coming down harder tonight than earlier today.
Snow is expected to last into the overnight hours.
Chain and snow tires are required on most northern Nevada roads as of 9 p.m.. I-580 through Washoe Valley doesn't require chain and snow tires, but the road ways are covered with snow, as visible through web cameras.

One to four inches of snow is possible today as a winter storm warning moves in.
The snow is supposed to start in Carson City about 10 a.m. The snow is expected to continue into this afternoon.
As of 6:30 a.m. snow was starting to stick in northern parts of Washoe Valley.
