Community Spotlight: Carson bowling keeps rolling on

Carson High’s bowling squad racked up a 36-9 win over North Valleys last week.

Robbie Munoz rolled a 270 game and 695 series, both career bests.

Connor Bell had a 236-617, Lily Irvin had a 200 and 564, Michael Rhoades rolled a 203 and 558, and Brandon Engles had a 203 and 512. Taylor Johnson had a 190 and 498 and Gabe Gabica had a 184 and 496.

excel in Reno meet

Silver State’s Level 7 team won the team championship at the Junior Olympic Meet at the Reno Event Center over the weekend.

The meet, which attracted several college teams, was held on a podium which is usually reserved for National and International meets.

In Division I, Emily Lewis was third on vault, second on bars and beam, and third all-around. In Division II, Eviana McGowan was third on vault and beam, first on bars, floor, and the all-around. Eliana Hollar was first on beam and second all-around. Elle Liebendorfer was second on bars and third place all-around.

In Xcel Bronze Division I, Alyssa Matthies won second place on vault, first place on bars, beam, floor and the all-around.

In Division 2, Adriana Castillo placed second on vault and bars, and won first place on beam, floor, and the all-around. Kiera Windsor was first on vault and bars, second on beam, third on floor, and was second place all-around.

Hayley Williams was first on vault and beam, third on bars, and won the first place all-around in Division III. Ali Maschke was second on bars, third on beam, first on floor, and won second place all-around.

In Xcel Division 4, Reagan Talkington was second on vault and floor, first on bars, and second in the all-around.

At the Junior Olympic Level 4, Tabby Thompson won first place on vault and bars, second on floor and the all-around in Division 3.

Brooklynn Grundy placed third on beam, floor, and all-around. Danica Studley was second on vault.
