Community sports: Silver Oak celebrating 20th anniversary

Silver Oak Golf Course will hold its 20th anniversary celebration from Aug. 6-10.

On Monday, Aug. 6, free golf will be offered for club members and golf for guests will be $30.

On Tuesday, Aug. 7, free family footgolf begins at 2 p.m. Those participating must bring their own soccer ball.

On Wednesday, Aug. 8, free Cadillac driving range balls will be offered.

On Thursday, Aug. 9, a free barbecue will be provided for all paying golfers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Friday, Aug. 10, there will be a free Jazz & Beyond event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. featuring the Jackie Landrum Band. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a no host bar will be provided.

Also Monday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 10, a twilight rate of $20 after 2 p.m. will be offered.

Holes in One at Genoa Lakes

Steve Arnold fired a hole-in-one on the 128-yard, par-3 sixth hole using a 9-iron at Genoa Lakes Golf Club Lakes Course.

Elizabeth Elwell fired a hole-in-one on the 77-yard, par-3 12th hole using a sand wedge at Genoa Lakes Golf Club Lakes Course.

Gary Wood fired a hole-in-one on the 129-yard, par 3 sixth hole using a 9-iron at Genoa Lakes Golf Club Lakes Course.
