Fallon swim teams cruise past North Tahoe

In a low number of contested events, the Greenwave swimming team breezed past North Tahoe on Friday with the regional and state meets now in sight.

The Greenwave boys won 137-47 while the Lady Wave scored a 135-44 victory. Fallon competes next on Saturday at Truckee at 4 p.m. before the regional preliminaries on May 11 and regional finals on May 12.

For the boys, only the 50-yard free, 100 fly, 100 free, 200 relay and 100 backstroke were contested with Fallon winning the 50 free and 100 free.

Donovan Wright won the 50 free in 26.65 seconds followed by Dominic Schulenberg in second at 27.27. Kaweepat Hoonsiri finished fourth in 29.44. Schulenberg won the 100 free in 59.43 followed by Brian Seline in third at 1:08.89.

Christian Nemeth took second in both the 100 fly and 100 backstroke, finishing in 1:05.07 and 1:08.70, respectively. The 200 relay team of Justin Bivens, Morgan McAlexander, Seline and Hoonsiri finished second in 2:06.81.

The Lady Wave won three of the contested six events.

The 200 medley relay team of Hannah Rochna, Ashby Trotter, Emily Giovanetti and Karley Frederick won the event in 2:19.32 followed by the team of Larissa Sanches, Marlen Hannen, Bailey Diede and Alexi Wassmuth taking second in 2:41.82.

Rochna won the 200 free in 2:30.26 followed by Diede in third at 3:05.39 and White in fourth at 3:10.21. Giovanetti won the 50 free in 29.09 while Rochna took third in 30.38, followed by Sanches in fourth at 32.45 and Frederick in fifth at 33.78.

Trotter finished second in the 100 free in 1:09.22 and 100 breaststroke in 1:27.90. White finished third in the 100 free in 1:22.14 followed by Hannen in fourth at 1:25.03. Hannen also finished third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:34.32 followed by Wassmuth in fourth at 1:51.13. Frederick took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:28.28 and Wassmuth followed in third in 1:59.51.
