LAS VEGAS — Armani Rogers accounted for five touchdowns and Javin White had two fourth-quarter interceptions to help UNLV beat Nevada 34-29 on Saturday night.
Rogers was 13-of-20 passing for 172 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions and added 14 carries for 46 yards and two scores.
White, who came in with two interceptions this season, picked off a pass from Ty Gangi at the UNLV 15 and Rogers led a 12-play, 73-yard drive that made it 34-28 when he scored on a 3-yard run with 2:34 to play. Gangi quickly moved the Wolf Pack back into UNLV territory before White’s second interception sealed it with 1:19 left.
Kelton Moore had 13 carries for 129 yards and a score for Nevada.
Ramiz Ahmed made a 29-yard field goal to give the Wolf Pack (7-5, 5-3 Mountain West) a 23-0 lead early in the second quarter. Rogers hit Lexington Thomas for a 39-yard touchdown less than two minutes later and, after Jocquez Kalili picked off a pass from Gangi on Nevada’s next play from scrimmage, Giovanni Fauolo’s 18-yard touchdown reception trimmed UNLV’s deficit to 23-14 with 9:47 left in the half. Rogers added a 1-yard TD run and a 1-yard scoring pass to Noah Bean, and Ahmed made field goals of 26 and 36 yards as Nevada took a 29-28 lead early in the fourth quarter.
