May 25, 1980 ~ Sept. 1, 2018
Heaven’s gates opened as Byron Lee Cassell III, affectionally known as Buddy, died peacefully September 1, 2018 at the age of 38, after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Born May 25, 1980 in Milford, Utah, the joyful and mischievous son of Brett and Rose Marie. The family relocated to Fallon, Nevada in 1985 where Buddy attended Churchill County Schools. As a member of the CCHS swim team and working as a life guard at the Naval Base and local pools, he was adored by his young swim students and team members alike. Buddy was especially passionate about music and excelled as a member of the Junior High and High School marching and concert bands, jazz band, and choir. Buddy played the tenor saxophone, the soprano saxaphone and the piano. Buddy graduated with honors in 1999 gathering tremendous and long-lasting friendships.
With an Academic Scholarship, Bud moved to Pullman, Washington where he attended Washington State University. He was a member of Alpha Kappa PSI the Beta Lambda Chapter and the WSU Cougar marching band. Bud thrived as a barista and trainer working at the Daily Grind Coffee shop for over three years where he built great relationships with his boss and fellow employees.
Bud’s love for technology and the business world developed when he was a member of the International Database Management Team. In 2004, he graduated with a double Bachelor of Arts Degree; one in Business Management and the other in Management Information Systems (MIS).
After college graduation, Bud selected Seattle, Washington to implement his talents and passion for connecting people together in technical recruiting, working for Avanade and Volt Corporations. A career change led Bud to California where he followed another passion for remodeling and designing beautiful landscaping.
A passionate, loving and generous spirit, Buddy had friends; young and old, wherever he went. Bud spent many happy times traveling and exploring the world. He delighted in entertaining and preparing a good meal to share with family and friends. Inclusivity, brevity, and comfort were always Buddy’s forte; no one was ever left out. And for this, Bud is loved by many. His infectious laugh, warm hugs and brilliant smile will live forever in our hearts and our memories.
Bud enriched our lives and is survived by his parents Rose Marie and Stephen Bracher, and Brett and Penny Cassell, his sisters: Amber, Sabrina, Amanda, and Kinsey; brother-in-law, Austin; and brother, Matthew. He is also survived by two nephews and two nieces, whom he adored; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, step-grandparents, and a large and loving extended family and circle of friends both personal and professional going far and wide beyond traditional definition.
On September 8th in Cathedral City, California, and September 12th in Seattle, Washington family members and friends gathered to Celebrate and Remember our beloved Buddy.
A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, 6 October 2018 at 11:11am. For more information and to RSVP, please email Rose Marie at: bracher@cccomm.net
In his honor, we believe Bud would ask his friends to spend time with their family, play outside, take a walk on the beach or mountain trail, keep close those you cherish; and make a toast to enduring friendships and Celebrate the commencement of His New Journey from his physical life…
