Carson City Republican Women offer $2,000 scholarship

Carson City Republican Women will offer a $2,000 scholarship to a senior in the Carson City-Dayton area. Scholarship forms have been given to high school counselors in the area to be given to students.

CCRW’s scholarship committee will receive applications in March. Based on criteria provided in the forms, five students who meet the criteria will be invited to speak at CCRW’s April luncheon, making a two-minute presentation. Members who attend the meeting will have the chance to vote for one candidate.

The winner will be a guest at CCRW’s May meeting along with their parents and will be presented the scholarship. The committee chair also attends the annual high school scholarship night to present the award to the student.

Carson City Republican Women host the Nevada Day Pancake Breakfast prior to the parade every hear. All proceeds from the breakfast fund the scholarship. CCRW is grateful to local establishments and businesses that donate everything for the breakfast.
