Blue Jays drop doubleheader to Knights

The Carson Blue Jays summer baseball team couldn’t muster much offense as it dropped a doubleheader on Saturday to the Reno Knights, losing the first game 6-1 and the nightcap 8-1 at Ron McNutt Field.

In the opener, Reno scored three runs in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead. Garritt Benivedez, Casey Martenseon, Brian Guthrie, Justin Nussbaumer and Jose Fausto all had a hit for Carson.

In the nightcap, Reno banged out 15 hits and scored four runs in the third to take a 7-0 lead. Casey Martensen went 2-for-3 to lead Carson.
