Sophomore Gaby Winkler gave the Lady Wave a boost Monday by hurling a five-hitter to lead Fallon to a 7-5 Northern 3A win over Dayton at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.

Winkler encountered some problems in the top of the sixth when she allowed three runs to tie the game, but the Wave responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning. She closed the door on the Dust Devils in the seventh inning.

Mackenzie Fish wielded the hot bat for Fallon with three hits and three RBIs. Lorynn Fagg also had a good game with four hits, and she scored three runs. Savana Manha batted in two runs and had two hits. Ashley Agaman, Aspen Mori and Shelbi Schultz each drove in a run for Fallon, which is 2-2 overall and 2-2 in league.

Fallon will be playing at a tournament this weekend, and athletic director Brad Daum said Fallon’s game with Truckee, a league opponent, will be played later in the season.

Julie Rogacs had two hits, including a homerun, and three RBIs for Dayton.
