Genoa, Nev. — Gardnerville approved its portion of the Buckeye Farms Agrihood specific plan 4-1 on Tuesday evening. Valley native Mike Henningsen was the vote in opposition, saying he was uncomfortable voting for a plan that extends 30 years, that he knows will change.
Tonight the plan goes to the Minden Town Board where members are meeting in person. Both towns are advisory to the Douglas County Board of commissioners. Minden is meeting 5:30 p.m.
Genoans have been recruiting a fifth town board member since there weren’t enough candidates in the last election to cover all the seats. The earthquake fault near Coaldale awoke with a start 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with a 5.16 magnitude quake, which set off a slew of aftershocks, including a 3.28 temblor 18 klicks southeast of Topaz Lake.
