Firefighters extinguish small Indian Hills wildfire

East Fork and Carson City firefighters responded to a half-acre wildfire located near Highway 395 in Indian Hills around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Initial reports were that the fire was burning toward the Home Depot which is at the top of the hill.

Firefighters quickly cornered the blaze and by 3:15 p.m. had stopped forward progress.

No cause for the fire has been reported. Firefighters expected to have the fire mopped up by shortly after 4 p.m.

Dry conditions have made vegetation extremely flammable.
