Douglas County Emergency Manager Tod Carlini reported 21 new cases of coronavirus Friday through Sunday and nine recoveries. On Saturday there were 35 active cases and 440 recoveries. Douglas has experienced two deaths in the outbreak.
The next testing event is 2-4 p.m. at Mills Park in Carson City with testing returning to Douglas 2-4 p.m. at the Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville. For more information, visit gethealthycarsoncity.org.
A high wind watch kicks off the day on Tuesday with the National Weather Service going just about all in on the chance of precipitation on Tuesday night.
With forecast gusts of up to 50 mph, we could see more power outages like Friday’s along with downed trees and it will be a bumpy ride for motorists along highways 395 and 88.
Today will be a good day to tie everything down with mostly sunny skies and a high near 66 degrees. A light southerly breeze of 5 mph will pick up in the afternoon.
