A Carson City man arrested after a brief manhunt in the Gardnerville Ranchos last week is being held on a parole violation.
Anthony Gabriel Muñoz, 24, was spotted at the Tillman 7-Eleven by a Washoe Tribe officer.
Muñoz was arrested after Douglas County deputies responded to the neighborhood and took Muñoz in custody at gunpoint in a Wheeler Way backyard at around 1:30 p.m. Nov. 12.
He was sentenced to 16-45 months for larceny from a person out of Carson City on Dec 2, 2019.
He was paroled on May 14, 2020.
• A man who was found in a stolen vehicle that had run out of gas near JackWright Pass in southern Douglas County told deputies he’d caught a ride and didn’t know the vehicle was stolen.
Robert Allen Taylor, 57, was arrested Nov. 9 after deputies responded to multiple calls that a man was unconscious behind the wheel of a 2004 Jeep parked alongside Highway 208.
Taylor said he’d been living at a construction site near Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center and caught a ride with a man to Arizona. He said he was asleep in the back of the Jeep when it ran out of gas and the other man caught a ride and didn’t come back.
The owner of the Jeep told deputies he was working at the site and left the vehicle running and unlocked as he went into the hospital for a mandatory temperature check. He said he was there for two minutes and when he came out his Jeep was gone. He is scheduled to appear in East Fork Justice Court on Dec. 2. Taylor’s bail is set at $5,000 and Matthew Ence has been appointed to represent him.
• A Stateline woman admitted Tuesday that she stole a credit card from a woman’s purse at a Stateline casino.
April Dawn Palomo, 43, faces a Jan. 5 sentencing date where prosecutors will recommend she receive probation.
She was released on her own recognizance after Tuesday’s hearing, but she still faces a felony charge for possession of methamphetamine in Carson City.
• A $10,000 warrant was issued for the arrest of a California woman who failed to appear in East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday for a felony gun possession charge.
Adrienne Ann Gonzalez and Gabriel Luna were arrested Oct. 26 after deputies investigated a Subaru that appeared to have bullet holes in the side.
Gonzalez posted bail and was released, however Luna is still in custody and appeared in court on Wednesday.
Attorney Brian Filter said he’d had no contact with Gonzales. Luna’s attorney Matthew Ence said negotiations are underway with the state and asked for another hearing on Dec. 2.
• A $5,000 nationwide warrant was issued for the arrest of a woman who failed to appear for her arraignment on a drug felony.
Mary Nina Franklin, 29, was arrested June 28 after deputies allegedly found 10.5 grams of methamphetamine in the back of a patrol car after she was taken into custody during a traffic stop.
