Genoa, Nev. — A man snagged a woman’s purse at Trader Joe’s and made a getaway in a white Ford Explorer around 1:15 p.m. Thursday. The Explorer reportedly made a right onto Highway 395 and then doubled back and was possibly sighted on the freeway heading north.

If you see a bunch of vehicles parked along Centerville this morning that would be the St. Gall Rummage Sale, which opens at 7 a.m. Watch out for shoppers walking through there.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems are performing in Minden Park 6 p.m. tonight as part of the Bently Nevada Family Summer Concert Series. Starbucks Roasting Plant is co-sponsoring tonight’s concert. No new fires were reported by Sierra Front during the red flag warning on Thursday. Minden-Tahoe Airport recorded a peak gust of 41 mph at around 2 p.m.

Today’s forecast is for hazy or smoky skies and a high of 90 degrees. The barest breath of a breeze will pick up out of the north at 5 mph in the afternoon.
