A Mono County school bus and a Toyota Tacoma collided on a snowy highway in Walker River Canyon as a big storm arrived in the eastern Sierra.

The bus driven by Coleville resident Lawrence Anderson was carrying eight students on Highway 395 south to Bridgeport around 4:20 p.m. when the driver lost control in a curve and crossed the center line striking a Toyota Tacoma.

The Tacoma was driven by Chula Vista resident Robert Morten. The left front of the bus hit the Toyota.

A passenger in the vehicle sustained moderate injuries and was pinned in the Toyota and had to be cut from the vehicle.

The wreck closed the highway for more than an hour.

No one was injured in the collision. There were chain controls in effect on the highway at the time.
