Highway 395 through Walker Canyon was blocked last night in a school bus collision 4:30 p.m. Monday. None of the eight children on the bus were injured, but the driver of the Tundra had a pinned leg for a bit before he could be freed. The highway reopened at around 5:40 p.m.

Douglas County School Board trustees will discuss changing the school calendar and a resolution involving maps delineating where new trustees live to run for district. The school board meets 4 p.m. in the Douglas High Media Center in Minden. Find out more at www.dcsd.k12.nv.us/boardnews

Planning commissioners are discussing a large storage unit project south of Gardnerville 1 p.m. today. From the background material it appears the town, which denied the project design review, is going to oppose approval.

Snow was still falling in Genoa at 6:30 a.m. According to the forecast, the snow should move on by 10 a.m. with a high temperature of 36 degrees. Expect a south wind 5-10 mph shifting west this afternoon. Parts of the Valley could see 1-3 inches. Other parts have already seen closer to twice that.
