Expect complications this morning if you’re headed over the Sierra, but otherwise the roads are relatively clear on this side of the mountains. Chain controls are in effect for Interstate 80 and highways 50 and 88 and over Mount Rose Highway.
Snow appeared to be sticking to the highway on top of Kingsbury Grade at 6 a.m., according to the Daggett Summit traffic camera. That just started so if it’s brief, there shouldn’t be an issue. If it keeps going, that might pose some headaches for motorists.

My gauge is showing .16 inches this morning, but there’s an ice cube in there, so that’s not very precise. Expect a possibility of rain mixed with snow before 7 and then rain with the snow level at 5,700 feet rising to 7,600 feet. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny with a high near 47 degrees. The wind will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.
