During the 2021 Caregiver Recognition Virtual Event, the Nevada Caregivers Coalition recognized six team members from Carson Valley Senior Living, Gardnerville, for their hard work and extraordinary commitment to caregiving in both paid and unpaid roles.
Severina Chicas, Mikayla Manley, Angelina Quesada, Kimberly Loyer, Ana (Lucia) Virgen Silva, and Marissa Nino are among 20 Mission Senior Living team members celebrated as Shining Star Caregivers during the virtual event. Cher Haack, the administrator at Carson Valley Senior Living, nominated the team members.
“Mikayla Manley goes above and beyond her caregiving tasks and has built wonderful relationships with residents,” said Haack. “Mikayla gets to know our residents and always makes sure they are getting their favorite drinks, snacks and meals. She provides outstanding care; serves with respect and professionalism, and always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face.”
“Severina Chicas shines as a caregiver,” said Haack, adding that residents love her positive, energetic attitude, and how she brightens up their mood when they see her. “Her detail and knowledge of not only providing care but administering medications is top-notch. We are proud to have Severina on our team and value the positive difference she makes in our residents’ lives.”
Angelina Quesada is a caregiver and medical technician at Carson Valley Senior Living. “She has a way with residents that makes them feel safe and secure in her care,” said Haack. “One of our memory care residents recently asked me if I could take away her days off so they would be able to see her every day! This just shows how much Angelina means to our residents here.”
Kimberly Loyer joined Carson Valley in 2019 and is known for her “huge heart for seniors” and for “providing outstanding care and service,” said Haack. Her compassion and genuine caregiving ability go above and beyond.”
Marissa Nino is a one-of-a-kind team member who provides care and administers medication in assisted living and memory care. “Marissa is very popular with our residents, who have shared what a respectful, intelligent young lady she is and how much they enjoy spending time with her,” said Haack.
Ana (Lucia) Virgen Silva Lucia is a caregiver with “extraordinary patience and respect for residents,” said Haack. “Lucia has an approach with our residents that always ends with a positive outcome due to the patient-centered care she provides.”
In addition to receiving recognition as Shining Star Caregivers, team members were entered to win raffle prizes that included cameras, smart TVs, an outdoor grill, car care products and more.
