On Wednesday, a North Valley couple distributed $2,500 in $50 bills to the employees of Smith’s in Gardnerville.
“We’re fortunate that we’re able to do this,” said the husband, who asked not to be identified.
On Monday, the Lions Club reported selling out of See’s Candies.
“The Carson Valley Lions would like to thank the community for once again supporting the Lions Club Candy Sales,” Lion Ron Santi said. “This year's profit will make it possible for the Lions Club to continue to provide services in Douglas County. What we raise here stays here.”
Once more this year, Valley residents stepped up by donating 240,000 pounds of food to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet along with $77,285 in cash during the Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive.
