Carson City man's body found near Cradlebaugh Bridge

A man whose body was found north of Cradlebaugh Bridge on Jan. 3 was a 1977 Douglas High School graduate.

On Thursday, Carson City resident Claude Randal Withrow, 61, was identified as the deceased.

Sheriff Dan Coverley said that Withrow was not reported missing prior to his body being found. 

"The cause of death will be difficult due to the condition of his remains," Coverley said. "We are working with the Washoe County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death."

After graduation, he was married for a few years in the early 1980s, and fathered a son.
