New Carson Valley Photo Club President, Susan Roaldson, welcomed everyone to the first meeting of 2021 via Zoom. This year’s Board of Directors includes Roaldson, Vice President Shannon Reddock, Secretary Sandra Silva, Treasurer Barbara Mower and Newsletter Editor Sue Cook.
Also on the Board is Past President Nj Thompson. The club has a website designed by Barbara Mower that can be reached at carsonvalleyphotoclub.org.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the club on that page.
Some club excursions for members only are in the planning stage. Since photography is based on the eye of the beholder it is easy to social distance and still have the pleasure and camaraderie of likeminded friends.
It is not required to have the best and latest to be a member of our club. Anything that takes a picture will do. Come and join us for some fun.
The judge for the January photo contest was E. B. Reddock, a professional photographer, who lives in Texas. He is the father of Vice President Reddock. Using the internet, combined with Zoom, he was able to critique 20 entries and choose his top three.
Winners of the January photo contest, themed “Eagles and Ag” were:
1st Place to Donald Swezey with his ‘Eyes on You’.
2nd Place, Sara Danta, ‘A bit of red’,
3rd Place, Kim Steed, ‘Carson Valley Morning’.
Our theme for February is “Patterns and Textures in a Winter Landscape.”
Under normal circumstances, the club meets at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Everyone is welcome. Under the Covid-19 ruling, the monthly meetings are by Zoom. Please go to our website and sign up under Contact us if you would like to be included.
