There’s a whiff of smoke in the air this morning and some haze. The Beckwourth Complex northwest of Reno is at 91,000 acres and a fire burning in the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness has grown to 300 acres. Air quality remained in the good range through the morning.

The high hit 102 in Minden on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. The local climate function is down on the NWS Reno web site, so I’ll have to wait to find out if the record fell, but I doubt it.

The excessive heat warning expires at 9 p.m. The forecast calls for widespread haze with a high today of 100 degrees. The wind will pick up out of the southwest at 10-15 mph, gusting to 30 mph. Thunderstorms could develop south of here and affect us this afternoon.
