On July 1, 2021, Southwest Gas Corporation (“Southwest Gas”)

filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (“Commission”)

an application, designated as Docket No. 21-07004 (“Application”), for

approval to offer the Move2Zero Program (“Program”) to its northern and

southern Nevada sales customers and to establish a regulatory asset to

track costs associated with the Program.

Southwest Gas seeks approval of the Program to provide

customers with additional options to reduce their respective greenhouse

gas (“GHG”) emissions. Southwest Gas provides that it proposes to

offer customers participating in the Program the ability to offset any

amount of GHG emissions they choose. Southwest Gas states that, for

customers that choose to participate in the Program, Southwest Gas

would purchase and retire certified carbon offsets to offset combustion

GHG emissions associated with participating customers’ natural gas

usage. Southwest Gas additionally seeks authorization to establish a

regulatory asset to account for Program-related costs.

Interested and affected persons may file 1) petitions for leave to

intervene pursuant to NAC 703.578 through 703.600 or 2) protests

electronically through the Electronic Filing System on the Commission’s
