The Carson Valley Days celebration wrapped up on Sunday with the Carson Valley All About Youth Duck Race conducted at Lampe Park.
The race is the main fundraiser for Carson Valley Youth Day, which is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 17. Parents with kids between 2-16 can sign up at www.carsonvalleyallaboutyouth.org
Each year the organization gathers to show youth how much fun can be had outdoors.
“We teach hands on with the following: Archery, Wrist rocket- slingshots, Pellet Rifles, .22 rifles, shot guns and fly-fishing,” organizers said. “Other activities include: Fish and duck painting, Painting of decoys, Amie’s fishing Pond and drone flying.
The event also features the Nevada Department of Transportation on bicycle safety, Nevada Division of Wildlife on fish and game, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office talking about search and rescue, youth fingerprinting and Special Weapons and Tactics, East Fork Fire Protection District, Nevada State Parks, U.S. Forest Service, with a possible visit from Smokey the Bear, Carson Valley Medical Group, Wild Sheep Foundation and the Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club
