An early-morning fire gutted the offices of Joe Benigno’s Tree Service in Gardnerville.
East Fork firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to the large collection of wood sculptures and neighboring businesses.
The site is off Industrial Way and Highway 395.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Firefighters battled high winds in addition to the fire this morning.
As of 8:10 a.m. power was restored to 2,600 Carson Valley homes and businesses, while 380 remained without power.
A new outage was reported in the Wellington area affecting 316 NV Energy customers. Estimated restoration is expected by 10:15 a.m.
Breezy conditions are forecast to continue through the day, with 20 mph gusts until around 5 p.m.
