Genoa, Nev. — Douglas dropped below the test positivity rate threshold over the weekend, so the county is off the watch list. And we’re close on the case rate. There were 14 new cases between Saturday and Monday.

As the surge in active cases drains off, Douglas reported 202 active cases on Monday. I expect that will drop below 200 by tonight based on the trends.

Asymptomatic testing is 9-10:30 a.m. today at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center. The county has been running around 50 tests at each of these so there’s no reason to worry about a line.

The driver of a vehicle that went over the embankment over at Clear Creek around 3:10 p.m. refused an ambulance ride. Reports was that he managed to get around 40 yards off the road.

There was a dry, cold north wind blowing through Carson Valley on Monday with 30-35 mph gusts for a couple of hours on Monday afternoon.

Expect cooler temperatures today with a high of 57 degrees and 5-15 mph westerly winds, gusting to 25 mph. It should warm up on Wednesday.
