BEFORE THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF NEVADA
NOTICE OF AMENDED APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF
RENEWABLE NATURAL GAS ACTIVITY
On January 5, 2021, Southwest Gas Corporation (“SWG”) filed with
the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (“Commission”) an application,
designated as Docket No. 21-01015 (“Application”), for approval of
renewable natural gas (“RNG”) activity related to purchasing RNG to be
included in its supply portfolio.
On May 7, 2021, SWG filed with the Commission an amendment to
the Application to provide supporting information regarding the inclusion of
RNG in its supply portfolio as well as activities related to RNG (“Amended
Application”).
This Notice serves only to notify the public that the Commission has
received the above-referenced filing. It is the responsibility of interested
persons to review the filing and monitor the proceedings to determine

SWG filed the Amended Application pursuant to the Nevada Revised
Statutes (“NRS”) and the Nevada Administrative Code (“NAC”), Chapters
703 and 704, and including but not limited to NRS 704.9997 and the
Regulations adopted in Legislative Council Bureau File No. R117-19.
In its initial Application, SWG requests that the Commission:
authorize SWG to procure RNG for its sales customers and incorporate
RNG purchases into SWG’s supply portfolio; and to approve SWG’s
request for purchase authority to eliminate the need to have each such
purchase separately reviewed and approved by the Commission.
SWG states that its Amended Application adds the following: detailed
information regarding how RNG purchases would reduce greenhouse
gas emissions in Nevada; an accompanying request for the RNG activity
of participating in state and federal renewable energy programs; and
additional information on the environmental benefits associated with
SWG’s requested RNG activities.
Interested and affected persons may file petitions for leave to
intervene pursuant to NAC 703.578 through 703.600 on or before
