A 9-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos boy was one of the first victims of someone on a BB gun rampage who apparently also struck homes and businesses.
The boy's mother said he was hit around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday while he and his friend were walking near Meneley Elementary School near Mitch and Muir in the Ranchos.

That appeared to be the opening salvo as there were several reports of BB damage to homes and businesses between Tuesday and Friday.
