Douglas was well represented in Saturday's Nevada Day Parade, which included Jacks Valley native and Olympian Krysta Palmer, who won the bronze medal in diving.

She is due to be the subject of a proclamation at Thursday’s Douglas County commissioners meeting.

Playing back-up for Palmer will be the Douglas High School Fighting Tiger Band at No. 53.

Sen. James Settelmeyer wound up as the first entry in the line-up.

Right after Settelmeyer is Assemblyman Jim Wheeler for State Senate, who’s running for the seat being vacated by the term-limited Settelmeyer.

Douglas County’s gubernatorial hopeful Fred Simon is in the parade at No. 65.

At No. 76, the Douglas High School Jr. ROTC drill team will be marching in the parade, followed by Sierra Lutheran High and Bethlehem Lutheran schools.
