With a 2-0 win Saturday afternoon, Douglas High girls soccer ended its season on a winning note while also knocking Carson out of the playoff picture.
The Tigers had first half goals from Campbell Dedmon and Aleeah Weaver and held the two-goal margin through the remaining 40 minutes of the second half.
Though Douglas had already secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Class 5A regional tournament, the Tigers got a chance to determine their opponent to open regional play.
With the win over Carson, Douglas will welcome No. 6 Bishop Manogue (5-8-3) to town Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
The Class 5A regional quarterfinal will set the winner up with No. 2 Galena (11-1-4) Thursday at 3 p.m.
"I think they're going to come out pretty strong, so I think if we just play our game we will be just fine," said Dedmon of the Miners.
Douglas ends its regular season with an overall record of 9-5-2.
In the Tigers' two games against Bishop Manogue this season, Douglas has a 6-0 win and a 1-1 draw with the Miners.
Overall, the seniors captains are happy with where their team ended up this season.
"I'm super proud of us. I think we grew so much this season. That first game (of the season) we had all the smoke," said senior Helene Henry-Greard. "Halfway through the season, we learned how to have more fun on the field and listen to the coach. I think we grew a lot."
"I think our mindset changed a lot. I thought we started playing for each other," said Dedmon.
