Genoa, Nev. — Monday was a rough morning on the roads with a 14-year-old student hit walking to school near Highway 88 and County Road around 7 a.m. The student was conscious and breathing when medics arrived and was taken for treatment.


A wrong-way driver was southbound in the northbound lanes until he pulled into Silver City RV Park where a woman pulled his keys. He might have had a medical episode. The first report came in around 8:30 a.m.


A report of a man hitting parked cars on Tillman Lane and being chased by witnesses resulted in a manhunt in the Gardnerville Ranchos on Monday evening. The call came in at 4:30 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office got a positive identity of the driver, and they have his car.


A storage unit project for the corner of Pinenut Road and Pinenut Court, where Pine Nut used to connect to Highway 395, goes before the Gardnerville Town Board 4:30 p.m. today. Board members meet in their offices, 1407 Main St.

It sprinkled a bit in Gardnerville around 5 p.m., but that was most of the precipitation on Monday. Today expect mostly cloudy skies clearing this afternoon with a high temperature of 64 degrees. The wind, such as it is, will be out of the northwest around 5 mph.
