Genoa, Nev. — For some Carson Valley folks, every day is Giving Tuesday. There are tons of local causes and service clubs doing good work that could use your time and support. In exchange, they offer camaraderie and a sense of purpose. There are lots listed in the back of the Carson Valley Almanac and often in the paper, pick one, check it out and have fun while doing good.

Douglas County commissioners accepted the annual comprehensive final report for 2020-21 and approved reviewing the county’s payroll processes on Monday. The purchasing card internal controls testing will be conducted next year.
The Gallery of Trees is almost complete at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville. I hear they’re expecting three more before Saturday’s open house. The first gingerbread house has arrived, and the museum’s hoping the rest of the gingerbread neighborhood is under construction.
Monday wasn’t closet to as warm as advertised, with a high temperature of 64 degrees, 10 degrees short of the record in Minden. The high today won’t even warm up that much according to the forecast. Expect it to reach 63 degrees under sunny skies with a light north breeze.
