Genoa, Nev. — The newly founded Cultural Arts Foundation of Douglas County is hosting a mixer 5-8 p.m. tonight at the CVIC Hall featuring live music from Moz Motley Band and an excerpt from Rex’s Exs. Check out dcculturalarts.com

At 9.8 percent, Nevada Health Response shows Douglas is on the cusp of dropping below 8 percent test positivity rate, which if it lasts two weeks could take the county off the list for elevated transmission. With less than 2 percent to go, Douglas is the closest to the threshold of the 10 counties that are still over.

Community testing and a vaccine clinic are Wednesday at the Douglas County Community and Senior Center. Drive-through testing is 3-4 p.m. and vaccinations are 4:30-6 p.m.

Someone must have left the storm door open because there is a chance of rain forecast for most days this week. Tonight’s blast won’t come until after midnight but could cause some headaches for commuters on Wednesday morning.

In the meantime, expect mostly sunny weather today with the high hitting 62 degrees and the wind out of the northwest at 5-10 mph this afternoon. The snow level is supposed to drop to 6,200 feet after 2 a.m.
