INTRODUCED the
following ordinance:
ORDINANCE:
2021-1587
TITLE:
Ordinance 2021-1587,
an ordinance amending
Title 20, Chapter
20.600 (Golf
Courses) and Chapter
20.691 (Penalties and
Enforcement Fees),
and add a new section
20.691.350 (Action by
District Attorney) to
require a maintenance
plan for closed golf
courses, an increase
of nuisance penalties
from $125 to $250
per day for residential
properties and from
$125 to $750 per day
for non-residential
properties, golf courses,
and open space
properties.
SUMMARY:
Ordinance 2021-1587,
an ordinance amending
Title 20, Chapter
20.600 (Golf
Courses and related
facilities) by imposing
a requirement that any
golf course that ceases
commercial operations
must submit a maintenance
plan to the
Director of the Douglas
County Community
Development Department.
The ordinance
also amends Chapter
20.691 (Penalties and
Enforcement Fees)
by increasing the
nuisance penalty from
$125 to $250 per day
for residential properties
and adding a new
penalty section for
non-residential properties,
golf courses, and
open space properties
($750 per day). The
ordinance adds a new
section 20.691.350
that authorizes the
Douglas County
District Attorney to file
civil action in court to
enforce these regulations.

this Ordinance will be
held on 10/7/2021
