The V&T Railway is celebrating the return of The Polar Express train ride in Carson City this holiday season. After taking a year off due to the pandemic, the railway is now selling tickets at Eastgate Depot on 4650 Eastgate Siding Road off Highway 50 and Flint Road and online at vtrailway.com. Popular dates and times are expected to fill quickly, but seats are now available for departures beginning Nov. 19, and continuing through Dec. 24. Prices vary by date and passenger car, ranging from $35 to $85. Guests are encouraged to book soon, as rides are expected to sell out. “V&T Railway Commission is so excited to bring back this holiday tradition in a safe and clean environment,” said David Peterson, commission chair. “This year’s train will continue the beloved ride to The North Pole, and you can expect to see all your favorite characters once again.” The ride features golden tickets, hot chocolate and a cookie, dancing chefs, a read-along, and a visit from Santa Claus and his helpers. V&T Railway is also seeking energetic and animated actors, actresses and singers to be a part of the magic. Those interested may attend a casting call at Adams Hub on 111 W. Proctor Street. Casting call dates are Tuesday, Sept. 28 and Wednesday, Sept. 29, 6 to 9 p.m. Performers only need attend one date but must stay for the entire three-hour period. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian attend for the entirety of the entire casting call. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit vtrailway.com or call 833-RAILSNV. Updates are posted to V&T’s Instagram and Facebook accounts, @VTRailwayCommission.
