Genoa, Nev. — While we’ve received information on the identity of the woman killed in Saturday’s collision, nothing official has been released as of early Tuesday morning. I’m hopeful we’ll hear today, but that may not make Wednesday’s edition.

County commissioners are expected to trim $51 million in America Recovery Act requests to $9.25 million. The county received $9.5 million but spent $250,000 of it so far. Commissioners meet 9 a.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St., Minden. You can watch at www.douglascountynv.gov and click watch meetings.

New Library Board Trustee Starla Doughty will attend her first meeting 10 a.m. at the Minden Branch, 1625 Library Lane. First order of business, an update on the recruitment of a new director. It sounds like they’ve got a handful candidates willing to travel for an interview, which will occur May 4. An open house is anticipated for May 3.

New Audit Committee member Martha Scheuermann will take her seat at that panel’s meeting 3 p.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse. Member Terry Rankin was reappointed last week by county commissioners.

At least three more wrecks occurred on Monday, including one on Muller Lane just west of Highway 395 at around 8:15 a.m. and another at Highway 395 and Gilman Avenue around 5 p.m.

The sun took its sweet time popping out on Monday, but today should be mostly sunny with the wind out of the southwest at 5-15 mph, shifting west in the afternoon, according to the forecast.
